For most of the Filipinos, Taipei is for Meteor Garden, a Taiwanese drama series premiered on Philippine TV 15 years ago. Die-hard fan or not, you may have heard of this drama which remains the most beloved Asian drama series in the Philippines.

We fell in love with Meteor Garden and so with Taipei. Some of the Filipino fans relive their childhood memories by visiting some of the show's shoot locations like Ying De Cafeteria & P.S. Bu Bu Restaurant in Taipei.

But Taipei is not just about Meteor Garden. There’s just so much to see and do in Taipei.

Good thing, Taipei City tapped online comedy & singing sensation Mikey Bustos as the city's first foreign celebrity to promote Taipei as perfect city for foodies & shopaholics (yes, like me!) through a music video.

I had the chance to watch the music video "My New Crushie," when it was launched at the FUN TAIPEI 2018 media launch & travel seminar last July 3, 2018 at the Filipinas Ballroom, Ascott Hotel in Makati City. And I loved it cos it features Taipei's famous and amazing foods -- including beef noodle, Mango shaved ice, fried chicken & the global obsession Stinky Tofu. Hmmmmmm.... YUM!!! And for Mikey, "the taste is so unforgettable."

Here's the video of Mikey Bustos performing the song "My New Crushie" which is based on the theme song of the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei City. Yes, you could here me singing some part of it cause it has cute and catchy lyrics.

We, Filipinos, love foods & I'm sure, you're going to love this promotional theme of Taipei City's Department of Information & Tourism --- a 24-hour non-stop eating tour for Filipino foodies. The department also leads a delegation to visit the Philippines which consists of Taipei's famous food & beverage service providers, including Taipei's popular breakfast My Warm Day, hottest Ma La hot pot, award-winning pastry & bakery Sunmerry, always packed Smoothie House, world-famous beverage maker KQ Tea, chic hotel chain Amba Hotel & Resorts, dry noodle maker Asha-food & Fried Chicken Master

Here are the photos of the Taipei foods presented during the launch:

My goodness, these foods make me more excited to visit Taipei. Aside from the delicious foods of Taipei, I also want to experience the Taipei Double-decker Sightseeing Bus.

Oh, yes, going to Taipei is on my bucket list, isn't that obvious how I'm so excited. And checking it off on my bucket list is NOT pricey thanks to the super deals of Jeron Travel. The famous local travel agency has launched its travel promotion: an airfare & hotel deal with Taiwan' s top airline EVA AIR, including with Taipei Double-decker Sightseeing Bus. The ticket sale starts TODAY in the Philippines at the minimum amount of US$ 400. Also available is the limited amount of Fun Pass Taipei & "FUN TAIPEI" surprise package.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Taipei City's Department of Information & Tourism Chen Yu-hsin, Taipei is now one of the favourite travel destinations of Filipinos. Accordingly, the number of Filipino tourists has hit new highs, with the number reaching 290,784 since Taiwan approved the visa-free program for tourists from the Philippines in November 2017, which is just extended until the end of July, 2019. A staggering 68.59% increase from the same peiod in the previous year, which attracted 172,475 people in 2016.

If you want to taste Taipei's delicious food for free just go to FUN TAIPEI event tomorrow, JULY 6 at the Activity Center of Glorietta 2. There will also be DIY session, interactive photo studio & Mikey will perform the song "My New Crushie." Plus, you have the chance to win a prize when you take pictures at the event and tag FUN TAIPEI. And capping off the series of promotional events for Taipei City is the 2018 Travel Madness Expo at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City starting today to July 8.

Delicious food. Super great travel package. NOW is the best time to explore and experience the many sides of Taipei.
