L.A. Reid predicted Tate Stevens would win the sophomore season of 'The X Factor USA' -- and he was right!
On Thursday's finale (US time), the 37-year-old country singer beat out runner-up and powerhouse teen vocalist Carly Rose Soneclar, 13, and third place finisher, the manufactured all-girl group, Fifth Harmony, ages 15-19. The results were revealed by hosts Mario Lope and Khloe Kardashian-Odom.
His mentor L.A. was not happy when the show's producer gave the Over 25s category but after watching the Judges' House performances he started to love his category which gave him his first and last win as an X Factor mentor-judge. This is a sweet goodbye for him as he quits the show for 3rd season.
Stevens' prize includes a $5 million recording
contract. The show will return next year for its third season.
