Jennifer Lawrence was Chosen to Play the Role of Katniss Everdeen in the 'Hunger Games (Movie)'

Yehey!!! So excited for the upcoming film adaptation of Suzanne Collins novel, The Hunger Games (Trilogy)' because the producers want the Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence to play the lead role of Katniss Everdeen.

Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin were also up for the role of Katniss. Though, Katniss' age is bit younger than Jennifer's, who is now 20, she still gets the role because (I think) Liongate aims to make a great adaption of the book and bring the story to life and not just a typical teen flick.

Jennifer is going to be seen in the film 'X-Men: First Class' as Mystique.

Like 'Harry Potter' book series, The Hunger Games (Trilogy)' is also published by Scholastics.

The first 'Hunger Games' movie is set to release on March 23, 2012.

Lawrence is all wrong for the role of Katniss. They are making a huge mistake, and i will not go and watch this movie, now. I hate Jennifer Lawrence. I was hoping that they would be smart enough to chose Hailee Steinfeld, but now i see that they are stupid, and i was wrong.

Even though she's 20 years old right now, she looks as if she were in her mid 20s. She was great in winter's bone, but then again she was about 17/18 years old when she filmed that movie. By casting her, lionsgate is taking the thrill/ suspense/pity away from the book; children fighting for survival in games that their government has establshed. Katniss is supposed to be still a girl, mentally/emotionally mature, but not physically mature. see page, 355 in the hunger games book. what a poor casting choice. i hope there is still a miracle in which a girl auditions for a supporting role, but makes casting directors realize they have casted the wrong person as katniss everdeen. anything can happen in hollywood.
