Vivo local endorsers, singers, and real-life lovers KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde on Saturday, February 17, charmed their fans at a post-Valentine’s Day show at Limketkai Atrium in Cagayan de Oro City.

The concert, which also featured The X Factor alumni Jeric Medina, Chandreena, and Shameena Moorjani as well as CDO-based Visayan pop singer Winset Jacot, was made possible through the support of global smartphone brand Vivo.

The Limketkai Atrium was jam-packed with fans of all ages, from all walks of life to witness the talented singers perform their hits. In between the songs, fans screamed to show their love and appreciation for the pair. Unsurprisingly, Monterde and Tandingan did not disappoint. They hit the right notes and delivered a show for the books. They even performed a medley of Visayan songs, especially for their Kagay-anon fans.

Monterde sang his original compositions such as “Sa Tuwina,”  “Imahinasyon,” and “Mahika.” Tandingan, meanwhile, delighted fans with her rendition of “Tadhana,” “Two Less Lonely People in the World,” and her winning performance of “Rolling in the Deep” on the Chinese television series “Singer 2018.”

Tandingan and Monterde joined Vivo’s family in September 2017 during the launch of the V7+, the brand’s flagship smartphone that boasts of a 24-megapixel front camera and 5.99-inch all-screen display.

Since then, the singers have performed at Vivo’s mall shows in and out of Metro Manila in helping spread the word about what sets Vivo smartphones apart from the pack.  Tandingan and Monterde both expressed their gratitude to Vivo for helping them mount the show.

“Vivo has always been supportive of our projects. We’re very thankful to them for helping us sing together for our fans in Cagayan de Oro,” the pair said.

Dubbed as Soul Supreme, Tandingan hails from Digos City, Davao del Sur who won the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012. The acoustic balladeer, meanwhile, left his career as a radio personality and a host of ABS-CBN’s regional show MagTV in CDO to pursue his passion for music.

In 2017, they released the official lyric video of their duet “Ikaw at Ako Pa Rin” after it went viral. It was also part of Monterde’s self-titled album.

Vivo celebrates Chinese New Year with CNY photo contest

To celebrate the Chinese New Year this 2018, Vivo launched a special photo contest but first involving a few well-known lifestyle bloggers for a first taste. Held last February 3 and 4 at Binondo in Manila, Vivo invited 18 lifestyle bloggers forn eventful photowalk around the oldest China town in the world. Bloggers were asked to capture photos that embody the Chinese culture may it be the food, the ambiance, the traditional lucky ornaments, or Binondo’s old charm as a whole.  Bloggers enjoyed taking photos with their Vivo smartphone because of its known first-rate features: the 24MP front camera for perfect CNY celebration selfies complemented by the camera’s HDR mode for stunning images with dramatic shadowing and highlights and the portrait bokeh for added aesthetics. Arjo Atayde keeps getting better as an actor & person

The first time I watched Arjo Atayde was on the primetime TV series "Eboy" he got my attention cause of his charm. I was like who's this cute tisoy guy on TV hahahahaha. I had no idea back then that he is the handsome son of Ms. Sylvia Sanchez cos he's not using his mom's last name.

You know me, when charming actor got my attention, I'll be a follower of his career. So after doing a teleserye under Star Creatives, he did several episodes of "MMK" (Malaala Mo Kaya) where he won 2 awards from Star Awards for TV in one of the episodes. And yes, I saw each episode, that's for the love of Arjo.

Then, he did the afternoon soap opera "Dugong Buhay," with Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus Big Winner Big Winner Ejay Falcon & Yam Concepcion, which, I think, is his first teleserye under GMO Unit of ABS-CBN. If on his first teleserye, I fell in love with his charm, this time, I fell in love with his acting. No doubt he won a Best Supporting Actor award for this series

I was a big fan of the Koreanovela "49 Days" (Philippine title: "Pure Love") & when ABS-CBN announced that Arjo would play the character of Raymond which was originally played by Bae Soo-Bin I was really happy cos he was that kind of actor who possesses good looks but could play manipulative character. And when the show started to reveal the real Raymond, oh boy, he didn't fail me. He gave emotions that I was expecting from his character. He was even better than the original Korean actor


But in the primetime series "Ang Probinsyano," which was his first teleserye under Dreamscape, where he really shone. He portrayal of Joaquin Tuazon really made an impact to the viewers & put his name to the top spot of Philippine entertainment industry. Let's admit, we hated his character but we loved seeing Arjo every night. And when his character died, I was like why did you kill him, the show would be lousy without him.

ABS-CBN gave him "Hanggang Saan" a new teleserye with his mom, Ms. Sylvia Sanchez, who made a remarkable portrayal of the character Gloria in the hit afternoon teleserye "The Greatest Love." In this teleserye, Arjo plays the role of Paco who is a law student and Sonya’s (Ms. Sylvia Sanchez) dedicated son. At first, I was so worried if he could beat his performance in "Ang Probinsyano" but Arjo is a great actor, he keeps getting better, he didn't fail me again. His portrayal of Paco is one of the reasons why "Hanggang Saan" got high ratings & always a trending topic on Twitter. He would make sure that you would follow his character and he owns each character that he portrays. Even his short portrayal of Lizardo in the 2017 movie "Ang Panday" made an impact to everyone who watched the film. Viewers and critics alike praised his performance and some said he should have been the main villain in the said Coco Martin  film.

He maybe the son of a great actress but he didn't use his mother to get a seat in showbiz. He made a name for himself. I will never get tired supporting Arjo cause a great actor like him deserves our support. Aside from being a great actor, he is also a great person that's why rich people and masa love him. He truly and genuinely appreciate every praise and good comments he receives. He makes sure to thank all the people who appreciate his work. I always hear stories from the production people that Arjo has no attitude and he is always professional when it comes to acting. He could be the baddest villain on screen but he is an angel in real life. Love yah, Arjo!

Scheduled to kick-off 26 June in Tokyo, the CELINE DION LIVE 2018 Tour will see Celine return to cities she hasn’t performed in for ten years, including Tokyo and Macao, and cities she will perform in for the first time ever, including Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Manila and Bangkok.

Tickets for CELINE DION LIVE 2018 in Manila will go on sale to the public beginning 18 January at 10 a.m. Members of TeamCeline will have access to purchase tickets before the public through an advance pre-sale from 16 January to 17 January. The tour is produced by AEG Presents and co-produced by Ovation Productions in Manila.

My nightly source of good vibes, 'My Korean Jagiya" ends tonight


As a K-Drama fan, I'm so thankful to GMA Network for producing My Korean Jagiya, the first-ever Filipino-Korean romantic comedy series top-billed by Heart Evangelista and Korean star Alexander Lee. It followed the love story of the Korean superstar Kim Jun Ho played by Alexander and the hopelessly romantic K-Drama Pinay fan girl Gia played by Heart. Ang saya lang kasi every K-Drama fan ay nakarelate sa story ni Gia, kung gaano siya kabaliw sa mga Korean dramas at sa mga stars nito & kung gaano niya kabisado ang mga linya ng bawat characters at pati pagpunta sa shooting locations sa #SouthKorea as part of her #bucketlist. Pero ang ultimate dream ng bawat K-Drama fan is to marry your fave Korean star na natupad ni Gia. It looks impossible, pero like Gia walang masama kung mangangarap.

Like Meant To Be, it also became my nightly source of good vibes. Ito yung tipo ng show na papanoorin mo bago ka matulog para puno ka ng good vibes & kilig sa susunod na araw. Mamayang gabi matatapos na siya at eto lungkot-lungkutan ako while doing this post & listening to the show's official theme song My Jagiya. Yung cute love story ni Kim Jun Ho at Gia o JuGia talagang mamimiss ko. Yung nagwiwish ka na sana di pa tonight ang finale. Galing din kasi ng show na kahit magkaiba languages ng 2 lead characters ay puno pa rin ng kilig & you could feel the K-Drama vibes. I'm going to miss the colourful outfits of Heart & of course, I'm going to miss my jagiya, everyone's jagiya, Alexander.

Both Heart and Alexander expressed their gratitude to everyone who supported the series since day 1.

Heart said she’s glad that people loved her character, Gia, as much as she did. “To be honest, after a really, really long time, it’s the first time that I felt that people appreciated me, and my efforts. I’m so thankful na na-appreciate niyo and naipakita ko rin ang love ko for my job. To the show, to the staff and to GMA, I just want to put it on record, I fell in love with my work again because of this show. Binusog niyo ako ng bonggang bongga. Thank you to the fans, to everyone, to the writers, and thank you even to the people that pushed me to do my best and it worked,” says Heart.

Alexander, on the other hand, said he has learned many things while doing the soap which has brought laughter and good vibes to the TV viewers, “There are too many things I learned from the shows ranging from Filipino culture, working experience, to reflection on life. I think the most important thing I learned this time is also what Jun Ho learnt: Fame and popularity do not make you happy; it’s the loved ones around you that is more important and could bring you true happiness,” says Alexander.

Meanwhile, director Mark Reyes shared he definitely enjoyed doing the soap and he will miss working with everyone on set most especially Heart and Alexander. “This is my 3rd project with Heart. It’s always a joy to work with her. She’s grown so much as an actress and has become more beautiful. Xander and the rest of the Korean cast are the ones I will truly miss. They’ve become family almost immediately. And I think Xander is an underrated Korean artist that I will look forward to working with again. American Idol judge Katy Perry is coming to Manila for Witness: The Tour

In the wake of the North American tour’s stellar reviews and added concerts, American Idol judge Katy Perry announces the Asia leg of WITNESS: The Tour. Produced by AEG Presents and Ovation Productions, Katy Perry will visit Manila on 02 April 2018 at the Mall Of Asia Arena. Besides Manila, WITNESS: The Tour Asia leg also includes Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta. This announcement follows the addition of a South American leg in March, Mexico, UK and European legs kicking off in May of 2018, and an Australian/New Zealand leg commencing in July of 2018.

Anna Luna wins Best Actress award in Venezuela for the advocacy film Maestra

Lemuel Lorca's Maestra (An Educator, 2017) recently won two awards at the Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela.

Film, theatre and TV actress Anna Luna was named Best Actress while Archie del Mundo got the Special Mention citation for Best Screenplay.

Luna, who won best supporting actress awards at the 2017 ToFarm Film Festival for the film Paglipay & at the 2013 Cinema One Originals for the film Bendor, bested 9-12 foreign and local actresses, including a known actress from Argentina. In Maestra, which is a tribute film to teachers, she played the role of Iah Seraspi, a poor Education student who keeps going on even in the face of extreme poverty & difficulty in life.

Meanwhile, Del Mundo is so happy for his unanticipated prize & inspired to write more great stories after having an international recognition.

The film, which premiered at Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival last August & is based on interconnected true stories of three generation of teachers, is produced by Dr. Carl Balita who is also an educator, entrepreneur, & radio announcer. Maestra continues to attract global attention as it has also been selected in other international festivals, such as Warsaw Avenue Film Festival & FACINE festival in the United States, & at the Sydney World Film Festival.

Luna and Del Mundo will be receiving gold trophies and certificates from the festival organizers. Del Mundo said he will donate his own trophy to his producer’s office as a sort of token of appreciation for their support.
